Chasing Spring AU.
the idea plants itself in their minds - the way a dandelion seed seeks its own sanctuary by braving the winds - and it is on a saturday when jongdae voices it.
“let’s do this,” he stands up, holding up the magazine he has spent the whole morning reading, “let’s do something like what these storm chasers. are doing”
the rest of them stare at the big, bold title of Storm Chasing: What is It Really Like and in that moment, something deep and meaningful fills the room, and they know that they are now bound to it.
this is how they end up packing their lives into suitcases, biding families farewell, and embarking on this grand journey. they are driving along, between the artificial greenery of the parks and the stony, lifeless elegance of the malls and apartment buildings, towards the vivid, breathing crescent of their childhood.
“where do we start?” junmyeon asks the question everyone is thinking.
“wherever we see daffoidils springing up at the wheels of urban life,” yixing answers, “let’s try finding the signs of spring after we’ve left seoul behind.”
just like that, they find themselves searching for spring and its very breath of life, eyes peeled for the smallest things, even the movement of the breezes and the scents they bring with them.
here they go, as one, chasing spring.
